Morgen Hall '24 chose Lesley’s Master in Elementary Education program because of its highly regarded coursework and hands-on teaching experience through its one-year teacher residency program. Those reasons would make Professor Emerita June T. Fox, a distinguished former member of the Lesley faculty, proud, given her steadfast commitment to teacher preparation and education.
“I chose elementary education because I love working with kids, and it’s something that I’ve always felt passionate about. I’ve always seen myself doing it,” she said. “I love the science of teaching and learning how students learn.”
Lesley’s teacher residency program gave Morgen real-life experience teaching first and third grade at Buckingham, Browne and Nichols School in Cambridge. Social-emotional learning is one of her favorite practices to incorporate into the school day. One morning, she asked the students what made them happy, and a student responded, “Miss Hall.”
“It was a special reminder of the impact that teachers have on their students,” she said. “Each of my students brings me so much happiness, and I am glad I can do the same for them.”
