About Lesley

Lesley is so much more than a university; it is a place that supports the key professions of education, mental health and the arts.

About Lesley

Lesley University is a small, private university that proudly graduates more mental health professionals and specialized education teachers than any other college or university in New England. Located just outside Boston near Harvard Square in the vibrant city of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Lesley is renowned for its unique portfolio of programs focused on Education, Mental Health and Well-Being, and Art and Design. The university also offers Business and Liberal Arts programs that support these key disciplines and a special program, the Threshold Program, for neurodiverse individuals to learn on-campus or be supported in independent living and working. More than half of Lesley’s student population of 4,500 are graduate students.

Lesley is so much more than a university; it is a place that supports the key professions of education, mental health and the arts by:

1. Partnering with the schools, mental health organizations and artistic communities which hire its graduates to create seamless pathways into these very needed professions.

2. Working to create lifelong support for education, mental health and art professionals: from support groups for new teachers, to a co-working space for artists, to lifelong coaching for neurodiverse adults.

3. Preparing students to practice these key professions with programs structured to teach how to make a living in their chosen field. Our students take a suite of classes outside of their major, such as business courses focused on the practice of education, mental health or art, to further prepare them for success in their desired profession.
