What do we do?

LCAL supports adult learners throughout their journey at Lesley. We offer advising geared toward undergraduate adult students; flexible program pathways to help maximize transfer credits; access to fully online programs; Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) to evaluate prior college level learning for credit; and community building for adult learners. We also house Lesley's Veterans Student Resource Center which supports all Lesley veterans and family members.

When are we available?

Our advisors typically work Monday - Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm but you can always contact us with questions: LCAL@lesley.edu

Where can you find us?

Our website includes additional details regarding our services.

Why would you contact us?

You should reach out to us if you are an adult student with multiple and competing life priorities looking for a supportive, flexible, and convenient pathway to graduation.

How do you contact us?

The best way to contact us is through our email at LCAL@lesley.edu. Once you reach out we'll send you specific information on how to schedule an appointment with one of our advisors.

Questions
Who 'qualifies' as an adult learner?

An adult learner typically is financially independent and has other life responsibilities such as work or children. However, we serve all students who desire a flexible, accelerated pathway to graduation.

Can I get credit for work experience?

We have a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) process through which students collect and provide evidence of college level learning (learned outside of college) that is reviewed for credit by our Faculty. Contact us for information!

Do adult learners take different classes?

While we have a few classes that are specifically for adult learners in our Liberal Studies degree, adult learners take the same courses and have the same program requirements as other Lesley students.

I didn't apply as an adult learner--can I change my program?

The first step is to talk to your current advisor who can put you in touch with us to see if LCAL is a good fit.

Is the cost different?

For maximum flexibility, adult learners pay per credit regardless of whether they are part time or full time. The part-time credit rate is different from residential students and has a 'built-in' scholarship (which means LCAL students are not eligible for additional scholarships). LCAL students who meet requirements for financial aid are eligible for financial aid.
