1. Create your personal statement.
Your personal statement, of 2–3 or 3–5 pages depending on your program, is how we get to know you on an individual level and begin to understand both your academic and professional aspirations.
2. Test your knowledge.
Schedule any applicable standardized tests so you can submit scores in time for your application deadline.
3. Gather professional recommendations.
Our master’s-level programs require 2–3 recommendations from faculty, supervisors, or peers in your professional network. If you’re applying for a PhD program, you’ll submit one letter from a PhD holder.
4. Select your best work.
Portfolios and writing samples allow us to see what you’re capable of creating. Specific requirements vary by program. Visit your chosen program's webpage for details.
5. Schedule your interview and/or your academic meeting.
You may be asked to meet with our program representatives for a personal or small group meeting. For some programs, we require that you sit with an academic advisor so that we can better understand your academic objectives.
6. Polish your resume.
For some of our more specialized programs, we like to see that you have relevant experience in the field, whether through professional, academic, or volunteer work.
7. Request your records and transcripts.
Every application will require you to submit official academic transcripts from any undergraduate or graduate institutions in which you are currently enrolled or that have issued you a degree. For some programs, we also require records of your licensure.
8. Complete and submit your application.
