We offer Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) workshops and courses covering practice questions, test-taking strategies, some content, and resources for individual study to Lesley students and alumni, current Lesley applicants, and the general public, usually 4 times per year.
All offerings are held in University Hall, 1815 Mass Avenue, Cambridge, MA. See each entry below for room information. The Porter Square T station is nearby, as are several bus stops. Parking is available for a fee behind University Hall; those using the parking lot for the workshops (not the course) will be eligible for a 50 percent discount. Registration information below. Math General Curriculum
Prepare for the Math subtest of General Curriculum (GC):

Lesley students and alumni can register for and take the diagnostic at no charge without registering for the workshop or course. Lesley students in Elementary, Moderate, or Severe programs are strongly advised to take the diagnostic during their first semester at Lesley in order to have enough time to prepare for the subtest.
- An intensive, 36 hour course, EMTEL 6600, open to Lesley students (and others as space permits). Cost: $375 Lesley affiliates; $500 general public.
- A 4-session weekend workshop, EMTEL 5600, open to Lesley students, current applicants, alumni, and general public. Cost: $100 Lesley students and alumni; $325 general public.

This intensive five-week online workshop offers a review of ESL test content, with strategies for multiple choice and open responses. Study strategies will cover each of the test objectives, including linguistics and sociolinguistics, language acquisition, knowledge of ESL instructional approaches, teaching in the 4 domains, and assessment for English language learners. This is not an SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) prep workshop.
Previous coursework strongly recommended prior to workshop: theories of language acquisition; ESL instructional approaches for oral language, reading and writing; sociolinguistics; and assessment for ELLs. You should also have familiarity with WIDA and TESOL standards. The workshop is a review of information required for the test and does not replace essential coursework. How to Register
Register in advance using titles, course numbers, and section numbers listed and submitting registration form by mail, fax, or in person to Registrar's Office (also in University Hall). For Lesley students and alumni, all workshops are free excepting Math General Curriculum; general public may attend all workshops for a fee.
Lesley students may register through WebReg during web registration periods. Students searching for MTEL workshops on LOIS should enter only two filters: TERM (e.g., 18 SP–Spring 2018) and DISCIPLINE: MTEL–MTEL related courses. Lesley students may pay for the Math Workshop/Course by check or charge card. Charge card payments can be made through LOIS. Note: If web registration is closed, follow instructions for general public participants below.
General public participants print Registration Form (PDF) and mail it or deliver it to the Registrar's Office with a check payable to Lesley University. Walk-in registrations may be accepted (except Math General Curriculum). Call 617.349.8427 for details. Payment by check only. No refunds will be issued unless official withdrawal (using drop form) is submitted to the registrar's office 48 hours prior to the workshop.
Workshop confirmations, cancellations, and/or changes will be made through email. Make sure your email address is current, correct, and legible, and check email before departing for the workshops.
