MTEL Workshop Schedule

A list of upcoming MTEL support workshops and courses for students, alumni, current applicants, and the general public.

Our Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) workshops and courses cover practice questions, test-taking strategies, some content, and resources for individual study to Lesley students and alumni, current Lesley applicants, and the general public during the Fall and Spring semesters.

All workshops meet on each of the dates scheduled in a synchronous, remote format.

  • Communication and Literacy-Writing: LMTEL 5101

  • General Curriculum: Social Science & ELA Workshop: LMTEL 5200

  • Math General Curriculum Workshop: LMTEL 5600

    Dates & Times

    Upcoming dates and times for this workshop are not yet scheduled.

    Description

    LMTEL 5600 is a 4-session (total of 18 hours) workshop that covers Number Sense; Geometry and Measurement; Probability, Data, and Statistics; Patterns, Relations and Algebra; and open-response questions. Includes an online math diagnostic and online support between workshops. Limited to 40 attendees, first-come, first-served.

    Cost

    $100 for Lesley students and alumni; $325 for the general public. EDIAG 5000 is the diagnostic portion, which is included.

  • Foundations of Reading: LMTEL 5400

    Saturday, 11/22/25 (9:00–1:00 pm)
    Sunday, 11/23/25 (9:00 am–1:00pm)

    Description

    Prerequisite: A course in literacy
    All workshop registrants will be co-registered in an online Phonics Diagnostic, EDIAG 5100. This tool covers knowledge of phonics and phonics instruction required for passing the Foundations of Reading MTEL, and is designed to help students determine whether, and in what phonics areas, they may need additional work. 

    Cost

    $20 for Lesley students and alumni; $200 for the general public.

  • Early Childhood Education: LMTEL 5300

    Friday, 11/7/25 (5:00–7:00 pm)

    Description

    This workshop covers strategies for taking the test, along with an overview of test content and outline structures for the open response questions.

  • English as a Second Language

    The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) provides a self-paced, no-cost ESL MTEL Prep Course. Please find more information here.
