Student Life & Housing: Threshold Program

Living away from home is a big part of the college experience.

It’s a time to try new things, make new friends, and explore your freedom. Students in the Threshold program live together in two residence halls in the heart of campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a few miles from Boston. This means you’ll have easy access to the city and everything our campus has to offer.

You’ll take classes with other students in Threshold, but you’ll share campus facilities with 2,000 undergraduate students. Threshold and undergraduate students eat in our dining halls, use the fitness center and library, and participate in 30+ organizations and 16 sports teams together.

You’ll feel right at home in Threshold’s fully-accessible, newly-renovated, and smoke-free residence halls—Kris House and Wilbur House.

Live-in Staff Support

Threshold’s curriculum helps you to become independent, and to grow socially and personally. You’ll get support in these skills in your classes and in the residence halls. Our live-in staff can handle concerns you may have as a young adult in a college setting, including the unique topics experienced by students in Threshold.

Residence life staff address these topics through programming and conversations:

• Friendships and relationships
• Communication and conflicts
• Cooking and cleaning
• Using public transportation
• Budgeting
• Time management
• Fitness, wellness, and self care

Social Activities

You’re going to love the weekends here. When you’re not in class or working in internships, there are many ways to have fun with your friends and explore the area. Our residence life staff, and students, plan dozens of social events each semester.

Our students have been camping on Cape Cod, and have stayed overnight in New York City.

Making Lifelong Friends

Residence and student life experiences are a way to make lifelong friends. The Threshold network has more than 600 alumni. And, most graduates continue to live in the Boston area.
