Lesley Announces Maine Scholars Program
The Maine Scholars program gives students prioritization by Maine employers as well as opportunities for financial aid and scholarship benefits.

Commuter Food Pantry

Lesley has an on-campus food pantry, run by student volunteers, that supplies food to commuter students in need. Whether they left their lunch on the bus, forgot their wallet at home, or are in need of a healthy meal, commuter students can stop by the food pantry and get something to eat.

What to expect

The pantry has breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks available, and a small supply of allergen free items for our students who are gluten or dairy free.

We have two refrigerators, a toaster oven, toaster, and two microwaves for heating up meals.  We also have a Keurig machine if all you need is a cup of coffee to make it through the day.  (Students are encouraged to bring a reusable mug).

Registering for the Food Pantry

All commuter students (undergraduates and graduate students) can register to use the food pantry.  Simply stop by the pantry during open hours and request a registration form.  Once students have registered they can come as often as they like – registered students are asked to show their ID each time they visit the pantry.

Volunteering at the Pantry

Volunteering at the Pantry is a great way to get involved in the campus community and to meet other commuter students. The pantry couldn’t run without our volunteers and we are always in need of more!  Students can sign up for a weekly shift in the pantry by emailing commuterservices@lesley.edu

Location

  • White Hall on the Doble Campus
  • Because we are staffed by student volunteers, hours may change unexpectedly if a volunteer is unable to make their scheduled shift.
  • The pantry is closed on weekends, school breaks, school holidays and snow days.

Donate to the pantry

You can drop off donations for the food pantry at the Commuter Student Services Office at the food pantry in White Hall or at one of our donation boxes across campus.  Donation boxes are located in the Sherrill Library, Student Administrative Services (UHALL 3rd Floor), and the McKenna Student Center. (Refrigerated items should be brought directly to the pantry.)

Preferred items: The Commuter Food Pantry prefers items that are individually wrapped or packaged (individual packets of crackers as opposed to large boxes of crackers).  We also prefer items that can be microwaved and eaten on campus as opposed to items that would need to be cooked on a stovetop at home (easy mac as opposed to boxed macaroni and cheese.)

Most popular items: Granola Bars, Fruit Snacks, Small bags of chips, bags/packets of crackers, yogurt cups, cookie packets, noodle cups, and macaroni and cheese cups.

Most asked for items: Nuts and trail mix, vegan/gluten-free snacks and meals, k-cups, fresh fruit (apples, bananas, etc…) and frozen items such hot pockets, breakfast sandwiches, and frozen meals.

Non-food needs: The pantry always needs hot cups and lids, paper plates, paper bowls, plastic utensils, napkins, paper towels, paper lunch bags, Ziploc bags, Lysol wipes, cleaning supplies, and food safe disposable gloves.
