The Role of the Equal Opportunity/Title IX Coordinator
At Lesley University, we are committed to responding promptly and effectively to reports of discrimination, harassment, or sexual violence. The Equal Opportunity/Title IX Coordinator provides students, faculty, and professional staff with information, education, and support resources, and responds to reports of sexual violence and reports of discrimination or harassment on the basis of a protected category, including on the basis of race, national origin, gender identity, and disability.
The Equal Opportunity/Title IX Coordinator also investigates reports of violations of Lesley’s Discrimination, Harassment, and Sexual Violence Policy, Equal Opportunity and Inclusion Policy, Unequal Consensual Relationships Policy, and Community Standards of Conduct, and coordinates appropriate interim and supportive measures.
Federal and State Laws
Consistent with federal and state laws, Lesley University forbids discriminatory or harassing conduct that is based on an individual's race, ethnicity, color, religion, gender, national origin or ancestry, age, physical or mental disability, pregnancy or parental status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, veteran or military status, membership in Uniformed Services, and all other categories protected by applicable federal and state laws. We also forbid retaliation against individuals who report discriminatory or harassing conduct, or who cooperate in the investigation of such reports.
Title IX is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities that receives federal funding. Consistent with Title IX, Lesley University prohibits discrimination against students, faculty, or professional staff based on sex in any of its programs or activities, including but not limited to educational programs, employment, and admission. Sexual harassment, including sexual violence, is a kind of sex discrimination and is prohibited by Title IX and by Lesley. Support Services and Resources for Sexual Assault
At Lesley, we offer on-campus services and referrals to off-campus resources for sexual assault prevention, reporting, and support. Review the list of Emergency and Support Resources for Sexual Assault.
Confidential and Private Reporting Resources
Students who would like to speak confidentially with someone at Lesley about an incident, without making a report, may contact Lesley’s Counseling Center. Counselors in the Counseling Center are a confidential resource and are not required by law to report known incidents of sexual assault to University officials.
Faculty and professional staff may contact Lesley’s Employee Assistance Program to speak with someone confidentially.

Report Possible Violations of Lesley's Policies
To report sexual violence or other conduct that may violate Lesley’s Discrimination, Harassment, and Sexual Violence policy or the other policies previously mentioned, contact the Equal Opportunity/Title IX Coordinator.

Title IX Professional Development Training
