Self-Service How-to for Faculty

Logging In, Class Rosters, Web Advising, and Web Grading

  • Logging in to Self-Service

    Log in to Self-Service using your Lesley username and password.

    If you cannot remember your password, visit the Password Management page to reset it.

    Self-Service help is available via the "Help" link at the top right of Self-Service. In mobile, it is represented as question mark icon. You can also find information about Self-Service in the Lesley Lynx Solution Center Knowledge Base. Just enter "Self-Service" in the search bar.

    Always remember to log out of your account when you're finished.

  • WebAdvising Instructions

    For now, advising functions continue to be performed on LOIS.

    For advisors of undergraduate students to certify that advisees have met with their faculty or academic advisor and are approved to WebReg:

    • Log in to LOIS using your Lesley username and password.
    • Select the Faculty bar.
    • Under Faculty Information elect Advisor Registration Approval.
    • Your advisee list will be displayed, listing student name, email address, and a Student Advised column
    • By selecting the box(es) in the Student Advised column to enter a check mark, you certify that the student has been advised and is allowed to register for classes.
    • If desired, you may clear the check box (to remove registration authorization from a student) by selecting it again.
    • Press Submit to update the students' records.
    • Return to Advisor Registration Approval to check that your students are cleared.

    Remember to log out when finished.

  • Class Roster Instructions

    Use these instructions to check your class roster:

    1. Log in to Self-Service with your Lesley University username and password.
    2. From the Welcome page, select the Faculty box. You may also access the Faculty section via the navigation menu by selecting the Daily Work icon (it looks like a briefcase). A drop-down menu will appear. Open the menu item that says, "Daily Work," and then the next menu item: Faculty. The Faculty Overview link will display.
    3. On the Faculty Overview page, you'll find a table featuring your courses for the academic year, divided by semester and/or term. Choose the course link for which you'd like to view your roster.
    4. The Section Details page will load. Information such as your course's title, meeting information, and available seats will be at the top of the page. Scroll down for your course roster, provided in table format. You'll also find links to access course attendance and grades, as well as options for printing, emailing, or exporting your roster to CSV format.

    Remember to log out when finished.

    How to Submit Grades in Self-Service

    To submit grades Self-Service, follow these steps:

    1. Log in to Self-Service with your Lesley University username and password.
    2. From the Welcome page, select the Faculty box. You may also access the Faculty section via the navigation menu by selecting the Daily Work icon (it looks like a briefcase). A drop-down menu will appear. Open the menu item that says, "Daily Work," and then the next menu item: Faculty. The Faculty Overview link will display.
    3. On the Faculty Overview page, you'll find a table featuring your courses for the academic year, divided by semester and/or term. Choose the course link for which you need to submit grades.
    4. The Section Details page will load. From here, you may view your course roster, enter attendance, and submit grades. Select the Deadline Dates link if you'd like to check upcoming deadlines. Otherwise, select Grading.
    5. This will display a read-only table with your course roster and any grade information entered to date. The default view for this table is in Overview format. To enter a final grade, select the Final Grade link (beside the Overview link). 
    6. You'll find a table with your course roster and several columns in which to enter attendance and grade information. Locate the student for whom you need to enter grades, then select the relevant grade from the drop-down list.
    7. Press the Post Grades button. A pop-up will display, asking you to confirm your grade posting. Confirm your grade or grades by selecting Post Grades.
