Plan a degree program that meets your needs.
Design a program that’s right for you. Through our flexible M.Ed. program, you can create an individualized course of study that aligns with your career goals and interests. You’ll work with an academic advisor to choose courses that allow you to pursue a specialization, an endorsement or add-on license, or interdisciplinary work in the topics that interest you most. You can take this program on campus, with a variety of online courses, completely online, or as a teacher residency.
Nine of your eleven courses will be electives, while the final two will be required research courses designed to help you consolidate your coursework and develop an immersive action-research study.
If you would like, you can choose to complete one of the following graduate certificate programs, which will show as a specialization on your transcript:
- Mathematics Education
- Science in Education
- Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
- Autism Spectrum Disorder: Allies and Advocates
- Literacy for the Classroom Teacher
- Developing Literacy Expertise Through Responsive Classroom Teaching
Then, with the skills needed for a rewarding career, you'll graduate from the university that educates more teachers than anyone else in New England. In fact, more than 4,500 people have earned a teaching degree here in just the last five years. Employers in Massachusetts prefer to hire Lesley graduates, saying they are best prepared to enter the classroom on day one.
