Housing Options & Deadlines

• Health Requirements

  You should already have received two recent messages related to our health and safety policies. The first came from Lesley Health Service and explained our immunization and other health document requirements; the second message came from Lesley COVID-19 Safety and described the COVID-19 protocols that will be in place this fall. If you did not receive one or both of these two emails, you can find these policies on the following websites:

  All students planning to attend classes on campus must comply with the MA State-required immunization requirements (Tdap, MMR, Hep. B, Varicella, Quadravalent Meningococcus) and complete an annual screening questionnaire for tuberculosis. Returning students who may have completed requirements previously should check the portal for any incomplete or missing documents and bring their records up to date. All students must upload proof of their immunizations into the Lesley medical portal. All requirements and forms that need to be completed can be found on our online portal. These requirements need to be met prior to arriving on campus.

• Academics

  Classes will begin on Wednesday, September 4, for undergraduates and returning Threshold students and Monday, September 16 for new Threshold students. We encourage you to use our user-friendly interface called Self-Service, which allows students to register for classes, view class schedules, pay fees, view financial aid information, and view grades and transcripts, related to any of your university business questions and concerns.

• Student Activities & Campus Life

  Our student clubs and organizations will be planning meetings, activities, and programs and performances. You will be able to meet representatives from our clubs and organizations on September 22 between 11 am and 4 pm at the Campus Activities Fair, which will take place on the Doble Quad. You will also be able to sign up to participate in any of the organizations that interest you. In addition to the club events, the Office of Student Activities has produced a comprehensive calendar of events and activities for the year. Our hope is that you will find many opportunities to enjoy life at Lesley by participating in these activities, as well as other academic and wellness activities.

  The fall calendar will include many of our traditional programs to kick off the new academic year, such as Residential Move-In (see schedule below) and Welcome Week events (September 4-10), a Convocation ceremony (Sept. 7) and Family and Friends Weekend (October 13-14). As the semester gets underway you will have many opportunities to get involved in campus life, to get to know your classmates, and to make new friends.

• Office Moves

  Several offices have relocated to provide better coordinated ease-of-access services for students. Please make note of the following changes:

  Doble Campus:

  • Career Resource Center is now in 23 Mellen Street, Fourth Floor
  • Counseling Center is now located in 23 Mellen Street, Fourth Floor
  • Dean of Student Life and Academic Development is now in 23 Mellen Street, Second Floor
  • Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Justice is now 23 Mellen Street, First Floor
  • Residence Life is now in 23 Mellen Street, Second Floor
  • Student Health Service is now in 23 Mellen Street, Third Floor

  University Hall:

  • Support Hub is now on the 1st Floor of University Hall, next to the ATM machine
  • Financial Aid Student Accounts, and the Registrar are now located on the 1st Floor of University Hall.
• Counseling, Student Health, & Wellness Support

  The Counseling Center, Student Health Service, and Riverside Community Care are now all in 23 Mellen Street.

  Our Counseling Center staff are available to provide short-term mental health support to students and will offer some group and individual sessions as well as wellness programs. In-person and virtual wellness events and activities intended to strengthen our resilience and to build a caring community.

  In addition, our new partnership with Riverside Community Care continues to provide longer-term counseling and ongoing mental health treatment to students and will be able to make referrals to specialized mental health providers.

  The medical staff in Student Health Service, will offer appointments for office visits as well as tele-health consultations to residential students.

• Shuttles, Parking & Transit

  Our shuttle service on all three campuses (South, Doble, and Porter) every 10-15 minutes with routes to either campus. Shuttles are in operation weekdays from September through May. If off-hours service is required on weekends, holidays and after 10:30 pm students can contact Public Safety at 617.349.8888.   Residential students are not permitted to have cars on campus. Students who commute by car will need to apply for a parking permit.

  We encourage students to use public transit to the extent possible to commute to campus; information was sent in June about how to apply for a discounted student MBTA pass. Although the deadline for applying for the fall semester discounted MBTA pass was August 3, students will have another opportunity to apply for a discounted MBTA pass in November, for use during the spring semester. More information about that process will be sent to students through their Lesley email account.

• Housing & Dining Information*

  Move-In Schedule for Residential Students: New students and returning students who have registered to live on campus have heard from the Office of Residence Life about their housing assignments and can find the specifics about move-in below on this page. Our move-in process will begin with students checking in on the first floor of University Hall on our Porter Campus. Students will come to University Hall at their designated time and go through the check-in process, which will include confirming financial clearance, addressing any outstanding immunization documentation issues, confirming that the residential housing contract is signed, receiving keys to room, and signing the Student Handbook acknowledgement.

  While the students are going through their check-in, all family members will be able to mingle upstairs in the Porter Café for coffee and pastries, after which the students and family members will be able go to either the Doble or South Campus to move into their residence hall rooms. We are excited that we are able to bring this move-in day tradition back for the early-arriving families on Sunday. If there is a business reason why a family member is needed during the check-in process, the student will return to the car and go with the family member to meet with the person assigned to discuss the business matter. Due to restrictions that will be placed on parking, we will be asking families to unload their cars and then move them to the designated parking area. Transportation from the parking area, and back to your car will be provided on our campus vans. This effort is intended to reduce traffic and to allow everyone a smooth move-in experience.

  Please do not come to the campus before your scheduled move-in day and/or check-in window. The arrival schedule for residential students is as follows:

  • Pre-season athletes begin moving onto campus August 16 (Men’s and Women’s Soccer, 20 (Golf and Tennis), 24 (Cross Country), and 27 (Volleyball). Each move is scheduled to take place between 12 and 2 pm on the dates listed.
  • Community Advisors and Orientation Leaders will move onto campus at the times designated by Residence Life (for CAs) and the Office of Student Activities (OLs).
  • New international students will be invited to move in on September 1, following the schedule listed below under the "New Student Move-in Times" bullet point. International students will receive more information from the International Student Services Office about the International Student Orientation.
  • New students will move onto campus on Sunday, September 1, between 8:30 am and 4 pm, following the schedule below:
    • New Student Move-in Times: 1815 Mass Ave, University Hall, Porter Campus
      • Students will last names that start with letters A thru I will move-in from 8:30 am – 10:30 am
      • Students with last names that start with letters with letters J thru Q will move-in from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
      • Students with last names that start with letters R thru Z will move-in from 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm
  • Commuter students will be able to check in at University Hall between 12 pm and 4 pm on Sunday, September 1.
  • Returning students will be able to move-in on September 2 between 10 am and 2 pm.
  • All Threshold students will move in on September 3, with classes beginning on September 4 for returning Threshold students and September 9 for new Threshold students. Threshold students and families should have already received specific information about your move-in time from the Program.
  • Move-in Helpers: Each student may bring up to three family members or three friends to help them move into their room. Students who wish to discuss any special needs or circumstances related to their move-in schedule or who have other housing questions should contact reslife@lesley.edu.

  
  Still Need Housing? If your off-campus housing plans have changed and you’ve decided you’d like to live on campus, please contact our Residence Life Office at reslife@lesley.edu, as soon as possible so we can try to meet your housing needs.

• Meal Plan for Residential Students

  All residential students are automatically enrolled on an All Access + 50 meal plan. All first-year resident students and returning students with less than 30 academic credits are on this plan for the first year or the start of the next semester if you have more than 30 academic credits. First-year students are invited to purchase the VIP All Access Plan with 200 Dining Dollars for only $150 more. This is especially convenient for students living on the Doble campus where Ava's Kitchen accepts Meal Exchanges.

  Returning and transfer resident students with more than 30 academic credits will have the option to either purchase the VIP Plan or select from one of the reduced plans either Block 160 + 350 or Weekly 10 + 350 for more information on meal plans and the dining program please visit Dining Services at Lesley: Fall 2023 | Lesley University.

  To request a change, email hospitality@lesley.edu All Meal Plan changes must be submitted by September 11, 2023 - the end of the Add/Drop period.

  Students can track their remaining meal swipes and check their Dining Dollars and CashLynx balances at https://lesleycard.com/. Click the login/register button and set up your account. If you need assistance, please contact Transact Customer Service at 888-841-3340.

  Commuter students and graduate students may purchase a block meal plan or pay at the door.

  Each Block contains Meal Swipes to use at Washburn Dining Commons for all-you-care-to-enjoy meals. Meal Swipes can also be converted to a Meal Exchange for a pre-determined meal at one of our Retail Cafes – Ava’s, Porter, and Sherrill.

  To sign up for a Block Meal Plan: 1. Place the money on your Lesley ID card at http://www.lesleycard.com via CashLynx. 2. Email Lesley Hospitality hospitality@lesley.edu with the 603-number from the back of your Lesley ID card, and we'll place the meal plan on your card once the funds have been confirmed.

  2023-24 Door Prices

  Students may purchase individual meals at the door at the following prices using CashLynx, cash, or credit/debit card. Those who anticipate eating meals frequently on campus can save money by buying a block meal plan.
