Welcoming new faculty

Graduate School of Arts & Social Sciences welcomes eight new faculty

Our Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences welcomes eight new faces this fall across its Counseling and Psychology, Creative Writing, Expressive Therapies, and Global Interdisciplinary Studies programs.

Valerie Blanc joins the Expressive Therapies division as an instructor of Dance/Movement Therapy. She is a PhD candidate in our Expressive Therapies program and has been a long-time adjunct in the division of Expressive Therapies.

Danielle Legros Georges is interim director for the MFA in Creative Writing program. She is Poet Laureate for the City of Boston, and comes to us from our Graduate School of Education

Karen Frostig is an associate professor of Expressive Therapies in the Art Therapy specialization. Dr. Frostig comes to us from the Graduate School of Education, and also teaches in the College of Art and Design.

Jo-Anne Hart is a professor of Global Interdisciplinary Studies, specializing in peace, justice and restorative Practices. Dr. Hart previously taught in our Graduate School of Education.

Peiwei Li joins the Division of Counseling and Psychology as an assistant professor. Previously, Dr. Li was at Indiana University – Bloomington, where she earned a Dual PhD in Counseling Psychology and Inquiry Methodology.

Marisol Norris is an assistant professor of Expressive Therapies in the Music Therapy specialization. Marisol comes to us from Shenandoah University in Virginal, where she was a visiting assistant professor of music therapy.

Ara Parker is an assistant professor of Expressive Therapies in the Expressive Arts Therapy specialization. Prior to joining Lesley, she was chair of the Department of Psychotherapy and Spirituality at St. Stephen’s College and faculty lecturer of art therapy the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. She is a Doctor of Ministry candidate at St. Stephen’s.

Louise Michelle Vital joins the Global Interdisciplinary Studies division as assistant professor of International Higher Education. She comes to us from Michigan State University, where she is a PhD Candidate in higher, adult and lifelong education.
