We are excited to welcome Melissa Lozada-Oliva as 2018's keynote speaker. Lozada-Oliva is a Boston-based spoken word poet and author of numerous books, including her most recent, Peluda, from Button Poetry. Known for such poems as "Like Totally Whatever" and "My Spanish" she writes about family, class, immigrant experiences, Latina experiences and femininity. She will perform her poetry, meet and greet students, and sign her books.

Sigma Tau Delta, an international English honor society, will host the annual Literary Arts Festival, which honors new inductees and features an acclaimed writer/poet. Lesley's chapter features English and creative writing majors who strive to promote interest in the literary arts throughout the Lesley community. Creative writing professor Aaron Smith is the chapter's faculty advisor.
