Join us for a special event at Lesley University's Marran Theater, where the local mindfulness community will gather for a guest lecture from Chris Germer. We welcome all to attend, particularly:
- Lesley University Mindfulness Studies Program students and alumni.
- Other Lesley programs: Counseling Psychology; Expressive Arts Therapy, etc.
- Members of the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy (IMP), Cambridge Insight Meditation Center (CIMC), and Center for Mindfulness and Compassion (CMC) communities.
- Everyone with an interest in mindfulness and self-compassion.
The event begins with a reception at 5 pm followed by the guest lecture and discussion from 6-7:30 pm.
Chris Germer, PhD is a clinical psychologist associated with Harvard Medical School. He co-developed the Mindful Self Compassion (MSC) program with Kristin Neff in 2010, and they co-authored two books on MSC, The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook and Teaching the Mindful Self-Compassion Program. He is also the author of The Mindful Path to Self-Compassion. He was one of the founding members of the IMP and the CMC, Cambridge Health Alliance.
Andrew Olendzki, PhD is Professor and Chair of Mindfulness Studies at Lesley University and has been involved with both IMP and CIMC over the years. A scholar of early Buddhist psychology by training, he spent many years at IMS and BCBS in Barre, MA, and has written Unlimiting Mind (2010) and Untangling Self (2016). He will offer a brief response and moderate the discussion.
