"Cosmic Cowboy" tells an epic story of creation, destruction and the power of love through the music of composer Elena Ruehr, all while pushing the edge of technology. Inspired by both the 400th anniversary of the landing of the Mayflower at Plymouth Rock and the historic landing of the space probe Philae on Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, the project meditates on both the power of human imagination and the consequences of our colonizing impulse.
Created through a collaboration with Lesley art and design graduates and students and White Snake Projects, an activist opera company, this sci-fi opera blends staging and virtual reality. The production will be held at the Paramount Theater, Sept. 16 and 17 at 7:30 pm and Sept. 18 at 3 pm.
Free tickets are available for Lesley students at www.whitesnakeprojects.org. Insert $0 for the price or pay what you can.
