Summer 2020 Residency

As a result of the university moving all summer courses and programs online due to the coronavirus pandemic, we will be transitioning the June 2020 MFA residency to a virtual platform. Though we will miss our in-person interactions, we are confident that we can maintain the high-level conversations, tight bonds of community, and rigorous critique that are the foundation of our program.

The residency will start on June 19, 2020, as currently scheduled. However, it will span closer to two weeks in an effort to accommodate at-home schedules. Typical days will follow a block schedule and we will archive content for those who may not be able to join live.

Virtual Art Talks will occur June 22-25, 2020 at noon EST. June thesis students will be presenting grad talks during the online residency but will have the opportunity to do an in-person presentation during the January 2021 residency if they choose. The thesis exhibition will open in December, with a reception on the first Saturday of our January residency. The January 2021 thesis reception will occur on the following Saturday.

We will email more details to students. If you have questions, please contact Ben Sloat or Rebecca Joy.
