Adriana Villa-Perez shares student’s artwork as part of the New General Education Applications course: Community Health. The Pieces Aren’t Meant to Fit, is an exhibition of work completed by students who attend The New England Center for Children.
Villa-Perez notes “Created in a few months, students on the autism spectrum were given a choice of canvas size, colors and time needed. Painting is another form to see what someone is processing as art is also another form to express oneself. The idea for the painting is to emphasize the beauty that the autism community brings to the world, but most importantly to boost self-esteem and show support from outsiders of the ASD community.”
