We officially kick off the semester each fall by hosting a Convocation ceremony for our newest students. Incoming students will be welcomed to campus by Interim Provost Deanna L. Yameen, Dean of Student Life and Academic Development, Nathaniel Mays and President Janet L. Steinmayer and faculty and staff.
The ceremony is open to faculty, staff and returning students. We require all first-year undergrad, transfer and Threshold students to attend. Convocation is optional for first-year graduate students, faculty and staff. If faculty and staff choose to attend, they must register.
Following the ceremony, Convocation attendees are invited to Washburn Cafeteria for lunch. Our faculty will walk students to the cafeteria on the South Campus. Lunch is optional for faculty and staff.
