Come attend a workshop and learn how to identify and use the kinds of literacy that are required in science, math, and social studies to help children build deep content knowledge and vocabulary. Develop an understanding of how to reframe your instruction to integrate literacy into the content areas so children acquire disciplinary-specific skills.
You will learn how to foster the kinds of literacy skills (thinking, reading, writing, and talking) that scientists, mathematicians, and social scientists use to conduct their work. Then you’ll learn how to transfer this thinking into daily instruction that fosters children’s curiosity, meets state standards, and prepares students for the interdisciplinary world outside of school.
