Moriah Faith will recount her journey from patient to artist and discuss the ways in which chronic illness has inspired her artistic practice. This talk will take place in conjunction with the exhibition "Deconstructing Disability," currently on view at the Lunder Arts Center.
Moriah Faith is a figurative painter who currently works and teaches in the Boston area. Faith received her BFA in Fine Arts from Lesley University's College of Art & Design in 2020. She was inspired to paint after being diagnosed with a painful and incurable chronic illness as a child. In her work, Faith explores the complexity and depth of these experiences through striking self-portraits that have garnered international acclaim.
Faith's work will be featured in a one-person show at the Worcester Art Museum (WAM). This show, "The (Dis)Comfort of Home," will be on view at WAM from September 27 to December 10, 2024. Faith served as a juror for the exhibition "Deconstructing Disability" at Lesley University.
An ASL interpreter will be present, and live captions will be enabled.
