Addressing Microaggressions

Participants will learn best practices to engage in dialogue regarding microaggressions as well as review bias reporting processes.

Microaggressions are defined as the everyday, subtle, intentional — and oftentimes unintentional — interactions or behaviors that communicate some sort of bias toward historically marginalized groups. Participants will learn strategies to address and interrupt microaggressions when they occur. Participants will learn best practices to engage in dialogue regarding microaggressions as well as review bias reporting processes. Kay Martinez, director of DEI Training, Education and Development, will facilitate this session.
