Goodman has had numerous solo and group exhibitions in the United States. In 2019, he had a solo exhibition, Not Recent Color, at the Addison Gallery of American Art. His work was featured in the Naked Before the Camera exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. His work is in the permanent collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, Harvard Art Museums, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. His work has appeared in New York Times Magazine, Vanity Fair, Esquire, and Rolling Stone. Goodman has shot advertising campaigns for Gucci, Gap, Converse, Timberland and Reebok.
