In many parts of Maine, there is a significant demand for teachers and mental health professionals. Thanks to a generous $5 million gift from the Lunder Foundation, Lesley University has established the Maine Scholars Program. This initiative is committed to expanding educational opportunities for Maine residents and professionals, while also creating clear pathways to employment within the state.

How it works:

The Maine Scholars Program:

  • Is for both undergraduate and graduate students
  • Offers guaranteed internships upon acceptance
  • Provides exclusive scholarships for both undergraduate and graduate students, and free on-campus housing for undergrads
  • Connects you to a built-in cohort of students that will become your professional and personal community for life

Imagine living just 400 steps from Harvard Square as an undergraduate with your room covered, or the opportunity for graduate students to earn an affordable degree while staying and working in Maine. These are the ideas behind the Maine Scholars Program - combining education, career growth, and community connection all in one.
