In partnership with the Office of Community Engagement and the Digital Filmmaking department, the College of Art and Design welcomes speakers from our new community partner Somerville Media Center. They will present excerpts and highlights from "Beyond Boston," a collaborative project with Boston Institute for Nonprofit Journalism and Somerville Community Access Television. The film has a particular focus on gentrification and homelessness in Cambridge and Greater Boston.

Come to this talk to hear from presenters with Somerville Media Center and Cambridge Community Television. They will discuss the importance of community journalism in today's ever changing media climate. In a Donald-Trump era, it is more critical now than ever to provide additional outlets for fostering independent media and diverse voices with a focus on hyperlocal news reporting. Learn more about grassroots media and community journalism efforts happening in the greater Boston area and ways you can help get involved.
