Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark Assessment System (BAS) 1 and 2 is a series of texts used to identify a student's current reading level and progress in grades K–2 and 3–8. We offer professional development to teachers on how to administer, score, and analyze BAS. You'll determine the instructional implications for whole-group, small-group, and individual instruction using assessment results and The Fountas & Pinnell Literacy Continuum.

The Benchmark Assessment System is a 2–day training offered for grades K–2 or 3–8, using the 2nd or 3rd editions. This training is only offered on-site in your district and we can tailor the training to meet the needs of your teachers.

Teachers must be using the same edition of the Benchmark Assessment Systems, either 2nd or 3rd editions.
