Grit, Resilience, and Motivation in Early Childhood

What does grit look like? Feel like? How can teachers of young children support, honor, and empower children and families in critical aspects of their development?

In this session, Dr. Lisa Fiore, Professor of Education and Director of the Child Homelessness Initiative at Lesley University, addresses assumptions and biases that may challenge educators’ convictions about practices that provide children with equitable access to high quality education and life-long coping strategies. Classroom examples and activities will contribute to understandings that the group will co-construct, and participants will leave with resources that they can integrate into their own teaching and learning contexts.
