Online Master of Education (M.Ed.): Professional Licensure or Non-Licensure

Expand your teaching skills in STEM.

Deepen your understanding of science with Lesley University’s online master’s in science education. Our hands-on, interactive program allows you to engage in scientific investigations and engineering problems while you develop your content, knowledge, teaching skills, and assessment strategies. You’ll learn how to apply what you learn to your current classroom, bringing new skills and approaches that improve content delivery and help your students succeed.

You can take this program for Massachusetts Professional Teacher Licensure (Elementary 1-6 or General Science 5-8) or as a non-licensure program.

This program features a curriculum that combines a comprehensive survey of science content with strategies for assessment, retention, equitable learning, and more. With coursework grounded in the latest educational theory, you’ll study topics like:

Important Licensure Information

All Lesley University educator licensure programs comply with current Massachusetts educational requirements, as specified. In addition, Massachusetts participates in the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC) Interstate Agreement, which makes it possible for an educator to have their Massachusetts license/s recognized across the United States. Depending on your professional goals, where you reside or plan to teach, and the licensure structures that exist within that state, there are diverse pathways to licensure that may be relevant. In accordance with Lesley University’s institutional participation in SARA (State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement) and with federal regulations, Lesley University strongly encourages prospective applicants who intend to pursue licensure in a state other than Massachusetts review the Lesley University Licensure and Credentialing page for more information.
