Make a difference in the lives of children with autism spectrum disorder.
Improve your understanding of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and learn to implement your knowledge in the school, home, and community. In this program, you’ll study a curriculum that focuses on the roles and choices of family members, friends, allies, and advocates who support children with ASD. And you’ll study in a convenient, fully online environment with experienced faculty and engaged peers.
Through a curriculum that connects theory with practice, you’ll examine current issues related to ASD and develop strategies to support the unique needs of every child. Coursework includes topics like:
- Quality of life
- The criminal justice system
- Transition to adulthood
This program includes short field assignments that give you the hands-on experience you need for success. Studying the latest research means you’ll have tools that will make a difference.
Please note: this program does not lead to an autism endorsement in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. If you are interested in the Massachusetts Autism Endorsement, see the Graduate Certificate in Teaching Students with Autism.
At this time, residents of Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, and Oregon are not eligible to enroll in our fully online programs. All others may apply.
