Dr. Lisa Ijiri, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, has been a member of the Lesley community since 2012. A Fulbright scholar, Dr. Ijiri is a seasoned academic administrator with extensive international program experience. She has presented at national and international conferences on a wide-range of topics in higher education administration. As the Accreditation Liaison Officer, Dr. Ijiri provides organizational leadership on matters of accreditation and has served on over a dozen NECHE/NEASC Visiting Teams. Dr. Ijiri oversees programs and initiatives that advance Lesley’s commitment to inclusive excellence including the Global Education Center, the Office of Grants and Sponsored Projects, Certification/Licensure and Regulatory Affairs staff, Assessment, Institutional Research, and Systems for Organizational Effectiveness.
Dr. Ijiri holds Ph.D. and M.A. degrees from Northwestern University in Learning Disabilities, and an M.A. and B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in Psychology. She has over 30 years of academic leadership experience spanning academic affairs work including: curriculum and program development, retention and student success, instructional technology, faculty hiring, first year, general education, diversity and inclusion, resource planning, student affairs partnerships, career development, and grants. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Cambridge Community Foundation and has previously served on the Executive Board of the MA ACE Women’s Network and the Board of Advocates for the Freelance Players/Urban Improv. Previously, Dr. Ijiri worked for nearly two decades at Curry College in Milton, MA both in leading the Program for Advancement of Learning (the country’s first college support program for students with learning disabilities) and as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
