Joanie Ryan



Joan Ryan is a painting and drawing Professor here at the College of Art and Design. She has recently taught Drawing Fundamentals, Conceptual Drawing, and Drawing Intensive. She holds an MFA in Painting from Boston University (1984) and a BFA in Painting and Art Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (1977).

Joan is a Boston based artist whose work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. She has received grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, The Puffin Foundation, and George Sugarman Foundation. Some of the residencies attended include Mass MOCA Residency, North Adams, MA; DADA POST, Berlin, Germany; Santa Fe Art Institute, Santa Fe, NM.
