Fia Backström

MFA Faculty Member

Fia Backström is an artist and educator whose work spans across writing, performance, installation, ephemera, audiovisual, and photography. She attended the University of Stockholm and Columbia University for her undergraduate studies and received an MFA from Konstfack University College of Arts Crafts and Design. Backström co-chairs the photography department at the Milton Avery Graduate School of Arts at Bard College. She also teaches in the MFA program at Columbia University School of the Arts and the Lewis Center for the Arts at Princeton University.
