Andre Ruesch

Professor of Humanities

Faculty Andrew Ruesch

André holds a BA in Photographic Studies from Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland and an MFA and MA in Studio Arts from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque where he studied Photography with Patrick Nagatani, Betty Hahn and Eugenia Parry. Routledge/Focal Press published his book,Subtext-Critiquing Individual Photographs within a Collective Consciousness, in 2017. In the same year, The Race-Tales in Flight, a collaborative novel by Patrick Ryoichi Nagatani was published, to which André contributed Chapter Six/White, Leah Katzenberg.

    André currently teaches courses focused on Studio, Visual Culture, Art Therapy and Cinema. He grew up in Switzerland and started photographing in Asia where he worked for a Volunteer Organization. His multicultural background and experiences contribute to his passion for the expanding pluralism in visual expression, which he explores with his students.
