Student Life and Academic DevelopmentFrom the Dean of Student Life and Academic Development It is with great excitement that I welcome you to Lesley University and the web-pages for the Division of Student Life and Academic Development, fondly known on campus as SLAD. The Division of Student Life and Academic Development, located at 23 Mellen Street, is responsible for monitoring the overall quality of life for undergraduate and graduate students at Lesley. The Division provides a range of services and programs based at the main campus, and at the Art Institute of Boston, to support the academic, career, and personal development of all students, on and off campus. The Division of Student Life and Academic Development includes the following offices and departments: The Dean of Student Life and Academic Development, Athletics, Career Resource Center, Counseling Center, Disability Services for Students, International Student Services, Center for Academic Achievement, Student Insurance and Immunizations, Community Service, Orientations, Student Health Service, Student Activities, Residence Life, and Multicultural Student Services. In addition, Student Life and Academic Development oversees several cross-college advisory groups and programs, the Lesley University UNITY Gospel Choir, the Art Exhibitis at University Hall, and a discounted MBTA Pass Program for travel on the greater Boston public transportation system. The Dean of Student Life and staff also provide mandated services related to Lesley policies such as harassment and discrimination As co-curricular educators, staff in the Division of Student Life and Academic Development delight in assisting students, as they pursue their education goals. Together, with members of the larger Lesley University community, we work hard to create a supportive, stimulating, and safe environment for our students to learn and live in. I hope you find the information contained in these pages helpful. Please feel free to call on us, if we can assist you in any way. Sincerely, updated 10/19/07 | 12:26 PM
