Lesley University MTEL Workshops

For current workshop schedule scroll down this page, and then scroll back to this top portion to register. Workshops are usually offered 4 times per year--fall, winter, spring, early summer. They cover some content, practice questions, test-taking strategies, and resources for individual study. Offered as a free support service (except Math General Curriculum) for current Lesley students and alumni. The general public may register and attend workshops for a fee. Walk-ins will be accepted on a space-available basis (except Math General Curriculum). Please call 617.349.8427 or 800.999.1959 ext. 8427 for more information.

Math General Curriculum Workshop & Online Math Diagnostic ($100 for Lesley students; $300 for general public)

  • Fall 2009: (SPACE STILL AVAILABLE) Saturdays, October 10, November 7, November 14, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm, University Hall, 4th Floor, Room 4-022, 1815 Mass Ave, Cambridge
  • Spring 2010: Saturdays, January 30, February 6, February 27, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm, University Hall, 3rd Floor, Room 3-094 on 1/30 and 2/6; Room 2-150 on 2/27

Lesley Students: Register for EWKSP 5600 01 and prerequisite Online Math Diagnostic EDIAG 5000 01 by submitting University Registration form [pdf] and $100 fee to Registrar's office by mail, in-person, or FAX to 617.349.8717. Lesley students may take the Online Math Diagnostic at no charge without taking the workshop. Register for EDIAG 5000 01 by submitting University Registration Form [pdf] by mail, in-person, or FAX to 617.349.8717. On-campus Lesley students may register for the Spring workshop and diagnostic through WEB REG/LOIS until Nov. 2 - Jan. 24.

General Public: Register by submitting University Registration Form [pdf] and $300 fee to Registrar's office by mail, in-person, or FAX to 617.349.8717. Register for  EMTEL 6100 01, which includes workshop and prerequisite Online Math Diagnostic. Shortly after registering you will receive a Lesley user name and password that will enable you to access the diagnostic, which should be completed before the first day of the workshop. 

In addition, the Center for Math Achievement will be offering Saturday workshops focused on a particular math strand each month starting in December. Anyone wishing to enhance their content knowledge would find these workshops helpful, but especially those preparing to take the Elementary or Middle School math MTEL.

General Curriculum - Multisubject (free for Lesley students/alum; $60 for general public)

  • Sunday, February 7, 2010; 9:00 am - 12:00 noon, University Hall - 2nd floor, Room 2-078, 1815 Mass Ave, Cambridge

Early Childhood Education (free for Lesley students/alum; $50 for general public)

  • Sunday, February 7, 2010; 10:00 am - 12:00 noon, University Hall - 2nd floor, Room 2-048

Communication and Literacy - Writing (free for Lesley students/alum; $150 for general public)

  • Saturday, February 13, 2010; 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, University Hall - 2nd floor, Room 2-150 Amphitheater, 1815 Mass Ave, Cambridge

Foundations of Reading (free for Lesley students/alum; $70 for general public)

  • Saturday, February 20,  1:00 pm - 5:00 pm, University Hall - 2nd floor, Room 2-150 Amphitheater, 1815 Mass Ave, Cambridge
