Stafford Loan Forgiveness Programs

The Stafford Loan Forgiveness program allows eligible borrowers to receive forgiveness of up to $17,500 of their outstanding student loan balances. It can also allow for forbearance of repayment during the 5-year teaching period leading up to forgiveness.

The Public Service Loan Forgiveness program allows forgiveness of the remaining balance due on your eligible federal student loans after you have made 120 payments on loans under certain repayment plans while employed full time by certain public service employers.
