Emily Malin

Waterolor Collection

January 2007 - present

Emily MalinEmily has been exploring varied art forms since childhood. In the last twelve years she has concentrated on watercolor, using as her subjects the extraordinary abundance of simple yet interesting every day objects. A native of Massachusetts, born and raised in the Boston area, she attended Arlington public schools, and in the years between 1984 and 1994, she was at the Perkins School for the Blind, the Cotting School and Massachusetts Hospital School. Since 1994 Emily has been working in her apartment setting with the cooperation of her art teacher. She uses a table easel and has assistance mixing colors. In the last seven years, Emily has been delighted to share her work through the sale of a limited edition of Iris prints and an extensive line of color xeroxed blank note cards made from her paintings. She and her mother have a small business called Emily Enterprises. She has been a member of the Cambridge Art Association since 1995. Her work has been exhibited there, twice receiving special recognition, and during the annual Window Art Project sponsored by the Somerville Arts Council each summer. She was the subject of a solo exhibit at the Quebrada Coffee House, East Arlington, in July, 1999 and has participated in Arlington Open Studios each October, 2001-2005.
