Health Plan ParticipationEmployee EligibilityAll eligible employees of Lesley University can participate in our health and dental insurance programs. Employees (except students or adjunct faculty members) are considered eligible if they are regularly scheduled to work at least seventeen and one-half hours (17.5) per week. Additionally, a temporary employee who works at least seventeen and one-half hours (17.5) per week and is scheduled to work nine months or longer is considered an eligible employee. Eligible employees may participate in the health and dental insurance plans the first day of the month following the date of hire, providing they have completed the appropriate enrollment form(s). Coverage ends on the last day of the month following the date of termination. Family EligibilityAn eligible employee may enroll eligible family members in the health or dental insurance programs. An eligible employee can opt to enroll in a health plan within thirty (30) days after date of hire by completing an enrollment form. Enrollment forms can be obtained in the Human Resources Department. Lesley University offers two types of health coverage levels:
Employees can also make changes to their health or dental plan elections during open enrollment. Open enrollment usually occurs in the fall, and all changes are effective January 1 of the coming year Changes during the course of a year are allowed only if a qualifying event occurs.
