Bereavement Leave

(effective 9/1/07)

When there is a death of an immediate family member (spouse, spousal equivalent, siblings, parents, grandparents, children, step-children), the immediate family of your spouse or spousal equivalent, or an individual who acted as a parent to you when you were a child, or an individual who lives in your household, you are granted a three day bereavement period in order to make arrangements for and to attend the funeral.

If more time is needed, you may take accrued vacation or personal days subject to approval of the manager of the department and operational needs.
