Health Insurance

Lesley University shares the cost of the health insurance with employees. Current rates may be found on the Human Resources website.

Tufts HMO Value:

The Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) option allows members to choose a Primary Care Physician from an extensive network of doctors, who provides or authorizes all of your care (except in an emergency, or in certain cases of self-referral). Your Primary Care Physician will be your link to any specialists you might see within the network. Tufts HMO requires that you call your Primary Care Physician first when seeking medical services, unless it is an emergency.

Tufts HMO Advantage:

The HMO Advantage plan requires members to pay an upfront annual deductible ($500/ employee, $1,000/ family) prior to coverage for any diagnostic, inpatient, or outpatient procedure. After deductible is met, member is covered in full with no co-payment. You are required to choose a primary care physician.

Carelink PPO:

Carelink PPO allows members to visit any healthcare provider within the Tufts network and the national CIGNA Open Access Plus network with no prior authorization from their primary care physician. Members have the added benefit of coverage outside of the network. For visit with a non-covered healthcare provider, the member must pay an annual out of pocket deductible ($400/member or $800/family). Once the deductible is met, member is covered at 80% of the Tufts equivalent rate.
