Benefits Introduction

The University reserves the right to alter or change benefits, providing employees receive reasonable advance notice. For more detail on Summary Plan Descriptions, plan design, costs, eligibility, etc., please feel free to call the main number for the Office of Human Resources at 617.349.8787, or visit the Human Resources website

Benefits are available to benefit-eligible employees who work half time (at least 17.5 hours) and have a full time equivalency (FTE) of at least .5. Costs are prorated for part-time employees. Students, temporary, and adjunct faculty are not eligible for benefits. Faculty, contracted for 9 or 10 months, are not eligible for time-off benefits. In general, medical insurance, LTD and life insurance coverage may begin the first day of the month following the date of hire, providing enrollment forms are completed and submitted to Human Resources prior to that date, and coverage ends on the last day of the month of termination unless specifically otherwise noted.

Eligibility for and utilization of Time-Off Benefits and Tuition Remission is effective 3 months from date of hire.
