She strives to make the most of each educational moment and appreciate each student's talents. She has an extensive background in environmental education, wildlife research and human dimensions of natural resource management. Her interests include sustainable human ecology, animal behavior, and regional natural history. Karin's background in wildlife research includes: radio-tracking waterfowl, mapping red-cockaded woodpecker home range, investigating pheasant survival in various habitats, and studying the relationship between the eastern bluebird and a blowfly parasite. She has worked on projects studying the human dimensions of wildlife management in Colorado. She has also spent time as an environmental educator, fought forest fires and controlled burns in the US Forest Service, and worked on hiking trail construction and maintenance.
