Hank CollettoInstructor, Division of Environmental Studies (Audubon Expedition Institute) M.S., Lesley University; B.S., Environmental Studies, University of Maine, Fort Kent; A.A., Environmental Science, Berkshire Community College (207) 338-5859 ext. 38 Born in Massachusetts, Hank grew up in a small town with a family of five children. From a very early time in his life Hank developed a very intimate connection with the more-than-human- world. Organic gardening, environmental activism, and living out of doors were a mainstay of his formative years. Higher education began for Hank at a community college in his home state as he worked toward an A.S. in Environmental Technology. Hank then moved on to the U. of Maine for a B.S. In Environmental Studies; followed by an M.S. In Environmental Education from Lesley University/AEI. Following his formal education Hank lived in an intentional community land trust where he became a father of a wonderful daughter. Hank taught himself to build a super-insulated, earth-bermed, solar heated home, an experience which served as a foundation from which he obtained work in the field of energy conservation for a company that did sub- contracting work for the D.O.E. AEI then became the setting of Hank's new career where he has happily remained for the last eleven years. Dedication to education is in the forefront of Hank's life coupled with commitment to organic agriculture and working toward a lifestyle that is gentler on the planet. Combining these two values in the place he resides is foremost in his mind |
