School of Education Dean's Merit Scholarship
What is the School of Education Dean's Merit Scholarship?
The School of Education Dean's Merit Scholarship is awarded to newly-enrolling students demonstrating exceptional merit. Individual students may receive the award for up to two years of full-time study.
Applicable programs include: On-campus programs in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Middle School Education, High School Education, Special Education, Reading Specialist, Curriculum & Instruction, Community Arts, Teacher of Visual Art, Early Childhood/Elementary Education and Creative Arts in Learning, Integrated Teaching through the Arts. The following programs are not included: Citizen Schools, Collaborative Internship programs, Elementary Education Urban Initiative program, and programs offered in an off-campus format.
Scholarship Eligibility
An applicant to the Merit Scholarship should have a strong academic background, demonstrated leadership skills, and a commitment to the field of education.
- Student must be newly-accepted to an on-campus School of Education Master's program.
- Student must have a minimum GPA of a 3.2 in a previous degree program.
- Student must maintain full-time status (9 credits or more) to receive scholarship funds.
- Student must maintain an A- (3.7) average in Lesley coursework.
- Student must submit a complete scholarship application by May 15, 2012.
Application Requirements
- Student must have a complete admissions application on file or be accepted to an eligible Master's program for Summer or Fall 2012.
- Student must submit the scholarship application, scholarship essay, and a current resume to the Admissions Office by May 15, 2012.
