Artist Alfredo Gisholt exhibits a series of paintings in the Spotlight Gallery from October 18 to November 26.
Gisholt was born in Mexico City and attended Academia de San Carlos in Mexico City. He received his BFA from Florida International University and an MFA from Boston University. He was awarded a Guggenheim fellowship, a Dedalus Foundation fellowship, and a George and Helen Segal award. Gisholt has had solo exhibitions at the CUE Art foundation in NY, The University of Maine Museum of Art, Deborah Colton Gallery in Houston and Recinto Contemporaneo in Mexico City, among others.
He serves as Assistant Professor of Painting and Drawing at Brandeis University and has been a visiting critic at Rhode Island School of Design, Boston University, Massachusetts College of Art, The Vermont Studio Center and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. He currently lives and works in Boston.
