Center for Reading Recovery and Literacy Collaborative

OVERVIEW

The Lesley University Center for Reading Recovery & Literacy Collaborative, directed by Irene Fountas, offers a variety of professional development opportunities for educators in school districts around the world. The Center takes pride in its research-based literacy programs. It offers progressive approaches to effective literacy for every child, K-8.

OFFERINGS

The Center for Reading Recovery & Literacy Collaborative implements the following literacy programs:

Reading Recovery
Reading Recovery serves as a safety net for the lowest performing first grade children and is a supplement to a good classroom program. It is an early intervention program to assist first graders who are having difficulty learning to read and write.
 
Literacy Collaborative
Literacy Collaborative
The Lesley University Literacy Collaborative is a research-based, comprehensive model for school reform designed to raise the literacy achievement of all children in elementary and middle schools.
 
Institute Brochure  Professional Development Events and Graduate Courses
Designed to enhance and extend an educator's learning, the Center offers institutes, an annual conference and several graduate credit courses.
 
LLI Brochure Cover Leveled Literacy Intervention (Grades K-2)
Irene and Gay's newest small group intervention model. This professional development program is designed for K-2 teachers who provide small group teaching to children who find reading and writing difficult to learn. An ideal opportunity for any teacher who provides small group support such as Title One, Reading Recovery Teachers, Literacy Coaches and Reading Specialists.  Fall 2008 Dates Available!
 
Effective Literacy Coach Cover Literacy Coach Training
Developed by Irene Fountas and the Lesley University Literacy Collaborative faculty, this training is for Reading First Coaches, Reading Specialists, Literacy Coordinators, Directors of Language Arts and Reading First Directors.

This training is designed to help literacy leaders provide high quality professional development in their schools or districts.

What Every School Leader Needs to Know About Good Literacy Teaching and Effective Literacy Coaching
