In this self-designed BFA program, you’ll be free to pursue as many disciplines as you like. Begin by establishing a foundation of skills—critical thinking, composition, drawing, form and space. From there, experiment with different forms of creation. Explore video, sound art, installation, and performance in combination with more traditional artistic practices. Take your ideas in unexpected directions as you create multimedia projects that break from convention.
As your continue to evolve as an artist, work with faculty to design independent studio courses. Or select from diverse elective courses across the College of Art and Design, like audio production, perceptual sculpture, or web design. Pursue new knowledge of methods, materials, and media that enhance your individual style and point of view.
Throughout your program, map your personal interests to careers in the art world and beyond. Learn how to present yourself and your work. Build networking skills, curate your portfolio, and compose a knockout resume and cover letter. Put your talent to work through required internships and apprenticeships in Greater Boston.
