Intramural SportsIntramural sports are a fun way for students of all ability levels to be active and to enjoy some friendly competition. Lesley University is planning to increase the number of intramural opportunities for its students. We believe that intramurals are a great way for students to meet fellow students as well as to relieve some of the stress that may accompany college life. Currently Lesley University offers open gym two nights a week during the fall and spring for students to play freindly pick-up basketball games or simply to just shoot around. The athletic department is currently undergoing steps to convert the outdoor tennis court on campus into a multi-use facility whereby students can play tennis, basketball, whiffleball and dogeball. Flag FootballIn the spring semester, Lesley University's largest club sport is available for all students. Teams play on Sunday afternoons at scheduled times on the Cambridge Common near Harvard Square. Starting with the flag football combine, the league typically runs from the first week in February to the last week in April. For more information about the league and joining a team, please contact Zach Rocha.SwimmingLesley University has access to the War Memorial Gym located at Cambridge Ridge and Latin High School located within walking distance of Lesley's campus. TennisStudents can play singles or doubles on Lesley's outdoor court. The formation of a tennis club is in the works where students will be able to compete against each other in a ladder system format. TournamentsOne day tournaments are a great way to participate in recreational sports without making a weekly commitment. The Athletic Department is working hard to put together several one day tournaments scheduled for the spring. Expect to see the opportunity to compete against fellow students in basketball, soccer, wiffleball and ultimate frisbee this spring. updated 02/06/08 | 12:08 PM
